Financial Accountant – Revenue

This role will deliver financial and management information to all internal and external stakeholders and will focus on accounting and reporting within the Revenue team. This role will have a combination of revenue, cost and operational elements. This will include being involved in the daily revenue process, the management of specific operating expenses and the reporting of monthly results with analysis

What You’ll Do
Assist with the production and automation of daily revenue reporting for Online & Retail revenue channels
Participate in month-end close processes within Group Reporting deadlines for assigned channels
Operate a robust cost accruals process to ensure costs are accurately accrued within the constraints of a fast-close environment
Review significant variances for areas of responsibility, flagging key variances in advance of close
Standardize and automate month-end tasks to improve timelines
Prepare business packs for assigned channels with a high level of analysis
Complete balance sheet reconciliations within set deadlines
Manage third-party supplier payments, calculations, and reconciliations
Complete revenue reconciliation for areas of responsibility at month-end
Engage proactively with assigned channel owners to improve processes and procedures around monthly accruals
Continuously review processes and procedures in light of changes in systems and business requirements
Pursue opportunities to reduce the monthly close process duration without compromising the quality of information produced
Document accounting processes and internal controls in collaboration with management
Ensure processes and procedures are detailed and robust
Engage in cross-training initiatives
Work closely with the Finance Manager - Revenue on various ad hoc tasks
Perform other tasks as assigned
How You’ll Do It
Collaborate closely with the Commercial Finance function to ensure accurate and timely accounting information is produced in accordance with their requirements
Assist in the production of Budgets/Forecasts
Deliver timely and accurate financial information to the Group reporting team
Engage proactively with internal and external audits
Support related teams within Finance to achieve the best overall results
Demonstrate excellent team collaboration - hard-working, adaptable, proactive, and effective in a fast-paced environment
Exhibit excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
Communicate effectively with individuals from non-finance backgrounds
Display resilience when dealing with high volumes of data in a highly automated environment
Achieve results through organization, thoroughness, attention to detail, and a dedication to continuous improvement
Required Qualifications
Seeking a skilled accountant with over 1 year experience and strong academic background in financial reporting.
Proven record of consistent delivery in a similar role
Previous experience working in a US GAAP environment is advantageous
History of developing and implementing process improvements in a similar environment
Experience with Oracle ERP or other similar financial systems is an advantage
Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel
