THE JOB:

MGM Grand Detroit is looking for a skilled Boiler Operator to join our dynamic facilities team. In this essential role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining boiler systems to ensure optimal performance and safety across the facility. Your expertise will help regulate heating and hot water systems, supporting the comfort of our guests and staff. THE STARTING RATE: $41.51

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Recognize required needs, repairs, adjustments, or replacement of equipment, perform routine to complex maintenance and repair work on all mechanical and electrical equipment and systems throughout the property, responsible for completion of all jobs assigned by Dispatch or Management, and maintain logbook

  • Operate power and hand tools to complete job assignments in a timely manner, able to use diagnostic tools, such as but not limited to: Amp Meters, Voltmeters, OHM meters, compound gauges and pressure gauges etc. to find and determine  source of power and gas issues using voltmeter or gauges

  • Work under minimal supervision to complete tasks in a timely manner

  • Read and understand blue prints and wiring schematics to install and work on electrical components, understand the layout  of the property, hotel rooms, and equipment

  • Keep informed and updated on current techniques and technical methods and advise Shift Supervisor of any unusual conditions within the property

  • Maintain a constant awareness of personal and property cleanliness, safety and accident prevention, able to wear/use personal protective equipment (p.p.e.)


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

  • Four years experience as an electrician, millwright, plumber, locksmith, or journeymen

  • Eight years of kitchen and refrigeration experience preferred

  • Ability to work varied shifts to include weekends, holidays, and evenings
