The Role

We're looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our team and take ownership of the operational and release flow of our platform. Your primary focus will be running and improving the day-to-day deployments, environments, and operational work that keeps the platform reliable, and from day one, you'll be a full member of the team, contributing to design discussions, automation improvements, and the broader evolution of our infrastructure alongside our senior engineers. The platform spans multiple brands in a regulated industry, so reliability, change governance, and security are central to everything we ship.

Our environment is built around Kubernetes (primarily on Oracle Cloud) and a microservices architecture. We use Bitbucket pipelines for CI/CD (currently consolidating towards Jenkins), ArgoCD for GitOps-based delivery, Helm for application packaging, and Terraform for infrastructure-as-code. Observability runs through Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki, with secrets managed in Vault.

The team works as peers. You'll have senior engineers to learn from and meaningful ownership from the start, with no artificial ceiling on what you can take on as you grow into the stack.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run and improve deployments across development, staging, and production environments, including release checklists, version validation, and post-deployment verification.
  • Own the day-to-day operation of our CI/CD pipelines. Monitor runs, investigate failures, update Helm values and configurations, and keep release workflows reliable and predictable.
  • Help drive the ongoing migration from Bitbucket to Jenkins, standardising, documenting, and automating the release flow to reduce manual steps.
  • Handle operational requests from development teams, such as IP whitelisting, certificate updates, environment configuration, and scaling adjustments, within defined SLAs.
  • Collaborate with the team on new environment setup, service deployments, and troubleshooting across infrastructure, applications, and pipelines.
  • Improve and evolve our monitoring and alerting stack, helping the team detect issues earlier and reduce time-to-resolution.
  • Contribute to scripting and automation that reduces toil and repetitive work across the team.
  • Respond to and help triage incidents and security events, coordinating response and follow-through with the team.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on DevOps experience, with a track record of running and improving CI/CD pipelines and deployments in production environments.
  • Solid working knowledge of Kubernetes and containerisation (Docker, Helm).
  • Experience with Jenkins or comparable CI/CD tooling.
  • Comfortable in Linux environments and writing scripts (Bash, Python, or similar).
  • Working knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform preferred).
  • Exposure to observability and monitoring tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, or equivalent).
  • Experience working in a microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with at least one major cloud provider (Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, or GCP).

You should not apply if ...

  • You want a normal 9-5 job. This role is not easy & requires an all-in mentality. We are looking for team members who will put in the work that others won't.
  • You cannot take constructive feedback.
  • You cannot handle stress and pressure.
  • You have the mindset of "Quick Money", this is a marathon, not a sprint.
  • You do not embody our core values.
