Job Description

As a Database Administrator in Sportradar, you will be part of Sportradar's global team. The team works closely with developers, security, DevOps, and Architects.

Sportradar invests heavily in automation and accessibility services. We are therefore looking for a new engineer to join a growing data team that will look after our central data stack. Our infrastructure consists of thousands of physical and virtual machines, includes managed services, databases, streaming services, Kubernetes clusters, and spans several physical data centers as well as Amazon Web Services (AWS).

You will work with the solutions of the future in the sports, media, and betting industry. You will collaborate with developers on technical architecture and the implementation
of new products and services.

THE CHALLENGE:

  • Owning the database management activities 
  • Participating in cloud migration project 
  • Collaborating on technical architecture and implementation of new features and capabilities on our data platform
  • Searching, selecting and implementing new tools and technologies that "make life easier"
  • Keeping things running by continuous monitoring, alerting, and catching spots to improve
  • Learning new technologies, trends, and tools

YOUR PROFILE:

  • Excellent communication skills to cooperate with various internal departments
  • Good level of communication in English
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Some previous experience in MySQL database administration 
  • Some previous experience with a scripting language (e.g. bash, python)
  • Awareness of message queues and event streaming (e.g. RabbitMQ, Kafka, MQTT)
  • Readiness to learn new technologies, willingness to develop in the area
    of data management
