Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Data Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering team. You will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing robust data pipelines and infrastructure to support our cutting-edge betting platform. Your responsibilities will include developing scalable data architectures, optimizing database performance, and ensuring data quality across our systems, all within our collaborative, in-office culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain advanced data processing systems and ETL pipelines
- Architect and manage high-performance, scalable infrastructure supporting low-latency, real-time data pipelines
- Build and optimize different database systems and data pipelines for efficient data storage, retrieval, analysis, and serving of real-time data to both internal applications and customer-facing products
- Enhance database performance for high-throughput transaction processing
- Implement robust system resilience and failover strategies to ensure data integrity in high-frequency environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address data engineering challenges specific to sports betting analytics
- Continually learn and apply new data technologies and frameworks
- Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to data architecture planning and execution
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field
- Genuine interest in sports, sports analytics, and sports betting markets
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and Scala
- Strong knowledge of database technologies, particularly PostgreSQL
- Understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaborative teamwork skills
- Ability and willingness to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with low-latency data pipelines and real-time service integration
- Knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques
- Experience working with sports or betting data
- Experience with data processing frameworks (Apache Spark, Kafka, Airflow)
- Experience with AWS cloud services, especially Aurora, Redshift, S3, and Lambda
- Experience with real-time data streaming architectures
Compensation and Benefits:
- $120,000 - $132,000 with up to 50% bonus target
