Commercial Counsel

Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG) is seeking a talented, team-oriented Commercial Counsel with 5+ years of applicable legal experience to join the FBG legal team. This role will support a broad range of commercial matters across the business, including technology and product-related agreements, software and data licensing agreements, vendor and platform partnerships, and other strategic commercial agreements.

Reporting to the VP, Legal & Business Affairs, the Commercial Counsel will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, business development & strategic partnerships, and operations, providing practical legal and strategic advice in a fast-moving environment.

Duties and responsibilities may include:

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including:
  • Content and technology license agreements
  • Data licensing, access and sharing agreements
  • Software, SaaS, cloud services, platform, and technology services agreements
  • Other strategic commercial partnerships, vendor agreements, professional services agreements, and procurement-related contracts
• Provide strategic and practical legal advice to business teams on contract structure, negotiation strategy, and risk management.
• Support the continuous improvement of contract templates, negotiation playbooks, and workflows to promote efficiency and consistency.
• Assist in managing outside counsel and coordinating specialized legal support as needed.
• Support the wider company in building a leading digital gaming platform.

What skills and qualifications are important to us:

• JD. with strong academic background and highest level of integrity
• 5+ years of legal experience, including experience drafting and negotiating technology, software, data and other commercial agreements
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with attention to both detail and business context.
• Excellent judgment and ability to balance legal risk with practical business needs.
• Effective communicator who can simplify complex issues for non-legal stakeholders.
• Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Experience using AI in a legal context, implementing AI-supported legal processes, or helping legal teams adopt AI-enabled workflows is a plus.
• Interest or experience in sports, entertainment, or gaming is also a plus.
