Your Impact
Our Cloud Engineering team is at the core of powering scalable, secure, and high-performing platforms that support millions of customers across Australia’s leading gaming and wagering brands.
You’ll play a key role in designing and building cloud infrastructure that is resilient, observable, and built to scale - ensuring our platforms remain fast, reliable, and always available when it matters most.
This is an environment where you’ll continuously look for ways to optimise performance, enhance security, and streamline delivery. Your work will directly influence how quickly and safely we can ship new features, respond to incidents, and deliver seamless customer experiences across multiple brands.
Our favourite time of year is Spring Carnival, where our platform experiences a massive surge of traffic, and all our hard work is put to the test! Culminating in the race that stops the nation, we operate at a massive scale with hundreds of servers running thousands of service instances to handle millions of requests per second.
Day in the Life
- Design and build scalable, highly available cloud architectures that support production-grade systems.
- Deliver cloud-based projects both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Deploy applications using Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code approaches to ensure consistency and repeatability.
- Implement monitoring and alerting to maintain visibility over system performance, reliability, and health.
- Collaborate closely with Cloud Engineers, SREs, and Software Engineers — sharing knowledge, mentoring, and contributing to strong engineering practices.
- Work with stakeholders to clarify requirements and propose smarter, more efficient solutions.
- Troubleshoot incidents, diagnose issues across the stack, and drive resolution in a timely manner.
- Ensure systems meet security, compliance, and privacy standards at every stage of delivery.
- Continuously improve documentation, processes, and workflows to enhance team efficiency and delivery speed.
Your Strengths
- Strong knowledge of core AWS services such as IAM, VPC, EC2, S3, and RDS.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (particularly Terraform, with exposure to tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Pulumi).
- Solid experience working with containerisation technologies like Docker and Linux-based systems.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and the wider CNCF ecosystem.
- Proficiency in scripting (Shell, Python, or similar) to automate tasks and improve workflows.
- Good understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP, as well as reverse proxying and CDNs.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve complex system issues.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitLab and Argo CD.
