The bench technician II role is a highly skilled technical position responsible for supporting the growing operational demands of the organization through advanced equipment diagnostics, repair, and technical support. The role goes beyond standard bench technician responsibilities by providing higher-level troubleshooting, improving service efficiency, and supporting both field and track technicians, including on site in the field. The bench technician II plays a key role in maintaining equipment reliability, managing parts and consumables, and ensuring accurate tracking and reporting to support operational performance. This role will also identify and implement process improvements that reduce equipment downtime.
Delivery and installation of company equipment to customer sites.
When necessary, provide on-site support in the field at retail or casino locations.
Lead a team on special projects/events.
Support of field technicians during and after equipment installation.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, hardware, software, and systems failures.
General warehouse duties, including inventory, shipping, and forklift operation, may also be a portion of the work.
Oral and written communication, as well as hands-on work with field-based technicians for details regarding diagnostics or repairs.
Perform maintenance, testing and calibration of repaired products, as well as inventory tracking.
Assist in development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
Training of new and existing team members.
Assisting in the creation of presentations/reports regarding bench and equipment activities, issues, and performance.
Support of high-profile issues.
Performs these functions and all other duties as assigned.
Education
Must have a high school diploma or equivalency.
Years of Related Experience
An understanding of, and experience with, troubleshooting computer software and hardware technologies.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills.
Promptly respond to customer/leadership requests and feedback.
Proven self-starter with motivation and ability.
Organization and time management skills that enable effective multitasking.
Strong judgement and problem-solving skills to determine most cost-effective repair/resolution.
Ability to work weekends, holidays and evenings as needed.
Available to work overtime as needed.
Ability to lift, install and move large self-service equipment (regularly lift or move 35 pounds or more).
Pass a background check, drug test, and have a clean driving record.
Regular travel to customer locations for on-site work.
Ability to drive a non-CDL delivery truck.
Pass background check, DOT certification and drug test.
