Job Description

We are looking for a Banking Officer to join our Retail Finance team. Reporting to the Senior Banking Officer , you will be accountable for the accurate operation of retail bank accounts through reconciliation. You will be responsible for carrying out the day-to-day duties of the Cash Management team and supporting operational business units.

Key Responsibilities

Weekly and Monthly Cash and Bank Balance Sheet Reconciliations:

• Complete weekly and monthly cash and bank balance sheet reconciliations, accurately and on a timely basis.
• Ensuring reconciling items are identified and actioned promptly. Highlight risks and opportunities to the Senior Banking Officer (SBO)
• Provide assistance with reconciliations as required or requested by the SBO.
• Manage daily operational issues, including communication and resolution with external third parties.
• Aid various managers with the identification, communication, and resolution of issues.
• Support the security and audit department as needed.

Process Delivery:

• Execute the following processes, escalating issues to the SBO:
• Payment and cashbook processing
• Liaison with authorisers to ensure timely completion of payments across the business
• Completion of the daily cash calculation
• Attend meetings upon SBO request, providing feedback and updates on relevant documentation.

Other Duties 

• Provide telephone support to Retail estate address various day-to-day operational issues, including shop encashments, cash differences, and customer queries.
• Perform other tasks as required by the Senior Banking Officer.
• Support the STS daily workload as required.

Qualifications

Essential:

• Reconciliation experience, including high-volume or automated reconciliations.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Practical systems and IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.

Desirable:

• Cash management experience.
• Awareness of general banking processes and terminology.
• Experience using automated reconciliation software.
