About the Role
As a solutions architect it is your responsibility for evaluating an organization’s business needs and determining how IT can support those needs leveraging software, hardware, or infrastructure. Aligning IT strategy with business goals has become paramount within BetMGM, and the solutions architect will help determine, develop, and improve technical solutions in support of business goals. You will be bridging the communication between IT and business operations to ensure everyone is aligned in developing and implementing technical solutions for business problems. The process requires regular feedback, adjustments, and problem-solving in order to properly design and implement potential solutions and improvements.
For this specific role, we are seeing expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to design, develop, and implement scalable cloud-based solutions. This role will be partnered with technical teams and business stakeholders to architect secure, high-performing systems that leverage AI technologies, automation, and modern cloud infrastructure.
The ideal candidate combines strong AWS architecture experience with a solid understanding of AI services, integrations, and enterprise solution design.
Responsibilities
Lead brainstorming sessions to develop potential solutions for business needs or problems
Create a problem statement, defining operational requirements including integration with other systems or components, researching and modeling the system architecture
Work with business units to develop IT strategies and to improve current IT implementations.
Work with product and delivery teams to develop scalable solutions and products.
Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures on AWS
Lead the development of AI-powered solutions using AWS AI/ML services and third-party tools
Communicate and consult with internal stakeholders to develop appropriate solutions.
Manage activities that take place during solution ideation, solution design, and solution implementation
Review business context for solutions to company challenges as well as define the vision and requirements for the solution, recommending potential options, (which may include RFIs, RFPs or prototype development), selecting the most optimal option, and the development of a roadmap for the selected solution
Communicate the architecture to the stakeholders and collaborates and coordinates with existing domain architects in the formalization and adoption of IT standards and procedures.
Assure solutions not only are a fit for the specific purpose but also closely align with the standards guidelines of technology solutions
Direct the identification and recommendation of appropriate solutions, upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning options incorporating business and technology productivity, usability, and total cost of ownership
Develop and execute solutions which further reduce the percentage of time spent on reactive work
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather technical and business requirements
Architect end-to-end solutions involving data pipelines, APIs, automation, and cloud-native services
Evaluate and recommend emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and best practices
Create technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and implementation roadmaps
Support migration of on-premise applications and workloads to AWS
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to teams
Participate in technical workshops and solution demonstrations
Optimize cloud environments for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, software engineering, computer science, or related field
Proven experience in engineering and software architecture design
Strong hands-on experience with AWS services
Experience designing or integrating AI/ML solutions
Sound knowledge of various operating systems and databases
Efficient communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Analytical and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail
Ability to work under indirect supervision
Broad understanding of information technology topics
Effective interpersonal skills and collaborative management style to include teamwork and team building ability
Comfortable with ambiguity and time spent outside of comfort zone acquiring new skills
Flexible in a fast-paced dynamic environment with shifting roles and responsibilities
Technically creative and open-minded
The annual salary range for this position is $110,800.00 to $147,734.00. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for participation in a performance-based bonus plan.

Gaming Compliance & Licensing Requirements
As an online gaming company, BetMGM is required to comply with state gaming regulations which includes licensing obligations. Applicable employees must be licensed by at least one jurisdictional agency, although certain positions require licensing by multiple agencies.
