ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  

  • Performs daily, monthly, quarterly, and year-end general accounting and internal and external reporting  
  • Prepares month-end and miscellaneous journal entries 
  • Adheres to departmental month-end closing schedule 
  • Assists with capital expenditures 
  • Performs periodic physical inventories and related inventory control procedures 
  • Coordinates with the Financial Controller and all operating departments the annual reconciliation of 1099 information and preparation of the documents. 
  • Responsible for substantiation of assigned general ledger account balances through account analysis including the reconciliation of subsidiary information 
  • Performs special projects as assigned 
  • Will abide by all safety requirements as outlined in the Safety Manual or as required by individual departments and/or job functions. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Accounting or Finance related degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of 2 years accounting experience. 
  • Knowledge of account reconciliation and general ledger required 
  • Casino accounting experience preferred. 
  • Accounting experience and ability to reconcile daily work and experience with month-end close process are required. 
  • Candidate must be a self-starter with strong analytical skills and can work independently. 
  • Must have experience (intermediate level) with MS Excel/Word/Access and 10-key. 
  • Must be organized and can handle daily deadlines as required. 
  • Excellent communication skills written and verbal. 
  • Detail orientated and ability to multi-task. 
  • High degree of analytical problem solving. Experience with Word, Excel, and Access. 
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate with others. 
  • Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles. 
  • Candidate should be customer service oriented with good communication skills. 
  • Experience with query-based tools, systems, and networks preferred 
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays. 
  • Degree in finance or accounting preferred. 
  • Knowledge of Infinium a plus. 
  • Previous accounting experience in a hotel/casino environment preferred. 

 

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:  

  • Able to work at a computer terminal throughout the assigned shift and sit for long periods of time.  
  • Able to bend, reach, carry, stand, and maneuver up and down stairs.  
  • Able to respond to visual and aural cues.  
  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand English.  
  • Must be able to operate the following equipment: computer, printer, copier, 10 key adding machine, and telephone.
