The Crown Is Yours

Join our Legal team as a Legal Counsel Intern and gain hands-on experience supporting DraftKings’ in-house legal department. In this role, you’ll work on a wide range of legal matters — from contract drafting and research to compliance and commercial transactions — while collaborating with teams across the business, including Marketing, Product, and Corporate. This internship is an excellent opportunity to build practical legal skills, learn from experienced counsel, and see how law operates within a fast-paced, innovative technology company.

What You’ll Do as a Legal Counsel Intern

  • Draft, review, and assist with commercial contracts and other transactional documents.

  • Support internal business, marketing, and public relations teams by advising on compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Conduct legal research and assist with due diligence and negotiations for commercial transactions.

  • Investigate and analyze factual and legal issues related to the interpretation and application of contractual provisions.

  • Collaborate with attorneys to deliver timely, practical, and business-focused legal advice.

What You’ll Bring

  • Currently a J.D. candidate enrolled at an ABA-accredited law school.

  • Strong negotiation, contract drafting, and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and provide concise legal advice aligned with business objectives.

  • Understanding of artificial intelligence concepts as they relate to legal practice, and the ability to critically evaluate AI-generated content for accuracy, reliability, and ethical compliance within the context of legal work.
  • Sound legal judgment, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • A collaborative mindset with professionalism, positivity, and a sense of humor.

The US hourly rate for this full-time position is 24.00 USD - 30.00 USD, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable. Our ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The compensation information displayed on each job posting reflects the range for new hire pay rates for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
