ENTER THE GAME

At Betclic, our challenge is no longer to create more data, but to make existing data understandable, discoverable and usable.

As we scale our Data Platform and AI capabilities, we are looking for a Data Governance Lead to build the foundations allowing both people and AI agents to find, understand and trust our data.

You will lead the adoption of OpenMetadata, define Data Product standards and help transform metadata into a strategic asset for the company

YOUR ROLE WITHIN BETCLIC

Metadata & Discoverability

  • Lead the adoption and evolution of OpenMetadata.
  • Build and maintain the data knowledge layer (metadata, glossary, ownership, lineage).
  • Improve the discoverability and understanding of data assets across the company.
  • Ensure critical datasets are documented, trusted and easy to find.

Data Products & Governance

  • Define standards for Data Products and Data Contracts.
  • Clarify ownership and accountability around data assets.
  • Promote best practices for documentation, quality and reusability.
  • Support teams in building trusted and scalable Data Products.

AI Enablement

  • Enable AI agents to navigate and understand Betclic's data ecosystem.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar).
  • Structure metadata to support natural language interactions with data.
  • Collaborate with Data Science, Platform and Engineering teams to make data AI-ready.

Governance by Design

  • Automate metadata collection, lineage and governance processes.
  • Embed governance capabilities directly into the Data Platform.
  • Promote a self-service approach to data consumption.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in Data Governance, Metadata Management, Data Architecture or Data Platform.
  • Experience with Data Catalog solutions such as OpenMetadata, DataHub, Atlan or Collibra.
  • Good understanding of Data Products and Data Contracts.
  • Experience working with modern data platforms (Snowflake, dbt, AWS).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Curiosity and interest for AI and emerging technologies.

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Strong mentoring and coaching abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Proactive, pragmatic, and impact-driven mindset.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in large-scale or distributed data organizations.
  • Experience with OpenMetadata.
  • Experience in Data Mesh or Data Product organizations.
  • Knowledge of AI Governance or AI agents.
  • Background in Data Architecture or Data Engineering.

Impact

A user can easily identify where a business concept lives, understand its meaning, trust its quality and know how to use it.

For example:

  • "Where can I find the player's first bet date?"
  • "Which dataset should I use to analyze bonus conversion?"

The platform can point to the right Data Product, explain its business meaning, ownership and lineage, allowing both people and AI agents to discover, understand and leverage data autonomously.
