Description

GiG Group is looking for a meticulous and experienced Group Financial Operations Manager to lead our accounting and financial operations. This is a senior, hands-on role responsible for ensuring the integrity of our bookkeeping, developing a robust internal control environment, and driving the efficiency of our financial operations across the group.

The ideal candidate is a technically proficient leader with a strong background in financial control. A critical requirement for this role is deep, practical experience in Spanish financial environment, including an expert-level understanding of Spanish GAAP.  You will be the group's go-to authority for Spanish compliance, ensuring accurate local reporting and its seamless consolidation into the group's accounts, while overseeing all day-to-day financial operations of the group.


Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Control & Reporting
  • Take full ownership of the group's accounting function, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data and reporting.
  • Liaise with the other group functional leads to close the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes for the entire group.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate monthly management accounts in compliance with IFRS.
  •  Reconcile and review all balance sheet accounts.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls, financial policies, and procedures across all entities.
  • Oversee technical accounting matters, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
2. Spanish Financial Compliance
  • Act as the in-house subject matter expert on Spanish GAAP (Plan General Contable - PGC) and local tax regulations.
  • Liaise with other group function leads to oversee all accounting and compliance for the Spanish entities, ensuring all statutory accounts and tax filings (Impuesto sobre Sociedades, IVA, etc.) are accurate and submitted on time.
  • Liaise with other group function leads to manage relationships with Spanish auditors, tax advisors, and the Agencia Tributaria.
  • Ensure the accurate translation and reconciliation of Spanish local accounts into the group's IFRS reporting framework.
3. Financial Operations & Process Improvement
  • Lead and manage the group's transactional finance team
  • Drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives within the finance department to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Optimize the financial close process to reduce timelines while strengthening controls.
  • Manage group treasury operations, including cash flow monitoring, bank reconciliations, and payment processing.
  • Together with the accounts payable team, oversee grp accounts payable operations, including accounting for respective expenses, management of  accruals and prepayments and related controls
4. Team Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and financial operations team.
  • Foster a culture of precision, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Set clear objectives and manage the performance of the finance team to ensure departmental goals are met.


Requirements

Required Skills & Experience
  • A professional accounting qualification is mandatory (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or a recognised Spanish equivalent).
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience, with a strong emphasis on technical accounting, financial control, and reporting.
  • Demonstrable, hands-on experience working as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or similar role within Spain.
  • Expert, practical knowledge of Spanish GAAP (PGC) and Spanish tax regulations.
  • Proven experience managing the financial consolidation for a multi-entity, multi-currency group under IFRS.
  • Experience in designing and implementing financial controls and processes. 
  • Experience in leading an international team setup is desirable.
  • High proficiency with ERP systems (Ms Business Central) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish (written and verbal) is essential.
