Who are we?

Welcome to Multiple (https://themultiple.com), your go-to iGaming service provider. We’re here to empower iGaming operators, allowing them to thrive in such a volatile industry. Our years of expertise, cutting-edge technology, and passion for delivering extraordinary player experiences make us the right choice for any company looking to elevate their success. We offer a range of iGaming offerings such as; Gaming Services, Casino Marketing, Sportsbook Marketing and Operations, Creative, Data and B.I, Operations (CS, RPF, KYC), VIP Management, Acquisition, Social Media, Content, Product, Legal and Compliance.

The Role

We are building a modern data capability within our B2B and B2C iGaming organisation and are forming a small, high-calibre core team of data engineers who will design, build, and scale our data platform.

Rather than growing a large team immediately, we are intentionally starting with a lean nucleus of experienced engineers, each operating with significant ownership and technical influence. This team will define the architecture, standards, and engineering practices that will support the company’s data ecosystem as it scales.

As a Big Data Engineer on this team, you will contribute to the design, build, and operation of the core data platform alongside the Head of Data, the Data Architect, and the wider engineering team. Every engineer on this team is expected to contribute to platform engineering work, regardless of specialism.

Within the team, each engineer holds a specialised area of focus. For this role, that specialism is data science and machine learning. Your initial focus will be on accelerating the build-out of the platform’s integration and orchestration of data as it flows into the platform.

As the platform matures, your contribution will increasingly centre on your specialism ie. building and owning the organisation’s data science capability models and analytical products supporting player segmentation, fraud detection, personalisation, and other high-value use cases across the business. Throughout, you will remain a Big Data Engineer contributing to the broader platform, with data science as your area of depth.

We are also embedding agentic AI capabilities into our development lifecycle to accelerate engineering productivity, improve reliability, and enable intelligent automation across data workflows. Engineers joining the team will be expected to actively leverage AI-assisted development and automation practices as part of day-to-day engineering.

This role is ideal for engineers who combine strong data engineering fundamentals who have genuine interest in analytical and data science work, thrive in high-ownership environments, and want to help build a modern data platform from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Platform Integration (Initial Priority)
    • Design and implement ingestion pipelines to onboard data from the core gaming platform, handling event-driven, transactional, and behavioural data at scale.
    • Build and optimise data transformation and orchestration workflows that prepare ingested data for downstream consumption.
    • Work closely with the Head of Data, Data Architect, and wider engineering team to deliver the integration layer on an accelerated timeline.
    • Ensure pipelines are reliable, observable, and designed for both real-time streaming and batch processing workloads.

  • Data Science & Machine Learning (Area of Specialism)
    • Act as the team’s point of reference for data science work as your area of specialism, growing this focus over time as the platform matures.
    • Design and build predictive models and analytical products across key business domains including player segmentation, fraud detection, risk modelling, and personalisation.
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify high-value opportunities for data science and translate business problems into analytical solutions.

  • Data Architecture & Engineering Standards
    • Contribute to the definition of engineering standards, tooling, and best practices across the data ecosystem.
    • Build systems that are scalable, maintainable, and resilient.
    • Support the long-term data architecture and platform strategy alongside the Data Architect.

  • Platform and Data Migrations
    • Support large-scale platform and data migrations, including onboarding Tier 1 brands or high-volume partners onto new systems.
    • Contribute to migration frameworks, automated tooling, and data validation mechanisms to ensure data integrity and minimal operational disruption.

  • AI-Augmented Development & Automation
    • Work within a development environment that embeds agentic AI tools within the engineering lifecycle.
    • Leverage AI-assisted workflows to improve code development, pipeline reliability, testing, and operational efficiency.
    • Promote an automation-first mindset, embedding automation into data engineering and data science processes wherever possible.

  • Data Quality & Reliability
    • Implement data validation, monitoring, and observability mechanisms across ingestion and transformation layers.
    • Ensure high levels of data integrity, reliability, and availability.

  • Cross-Team Collaboration
    • Work closely with engineering, analytics, and product teams to deliver reliable and well-structured datasets.
    • Support the broader organisation in building a data-driven culture.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in big data engineering, with a track record of building scalable pipelines and distributed data systems.
  • Advanced SQL, with experience working across modern analytical warehouses.
  • Strong Python, with Scala or Java as a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, or OCI) and modern analytical warehouses (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, ClickHouse).
  • Pipeline orchestration experience with tools such as Apache NiFi; familiarity with containerisation and CI/CD.
  • Migration experience — supporting or building large-scale data migrations with a focus on automation and data integrity.
  • Data science aptitude — genuine interest in analytics and ML, with working knowledge of statistical modelling and libraries. Production ML experience is a plus.
  • Ways of working — thrives in small, high-ownership teams; automation-first mindset; comfortable leveraging AI-assisted development tools.
  • iGaming experience is a strong advantage.
