Role Overview:

This role plays a vital part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information that supports key business decisions. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain strong financial processes and support continuous improvement initiatives. What we expect from you:
  • Assist in the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare and review key financial schedules such as fixed assets, intercompany balances, prepaid expenses, and bank reconciliations.
  • Support the preparation of management accounts by providing accurate variance explanations and financial insights.
  • Assist in preparing statutory financial statements in line with local requirements and IFRS standards.
  • Contribute to VAT return preparation, ensuring accurate tax and VAT treatment in compliance with Maltese and EU regulations.
  • Support both internal and external audits by collating documentation, addressing auditor queries, and ensuring compliance.
  • Help maintain and enhance internal controls, including policies, workflows, and financial documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—operations, compliance, and IT—to ensure accurate and efficient financial flows.
  • Handle ad hoc accounting and reporting tasks, including assisting with forecasts, financial analysis, and other finance-related projects.

  • ACCA qualified, or in final stages of ACCA qualification
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
  • Minimum 2–4 years’ accounting experience in a corporate / industry setting
  • Good working knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS / local GAAP)
  • Experience with accounting software / ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Good understanding of VAT / tax in Malta / EU context
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, ability to work under deadlines
  • Good communication skills in English (verbal & written)
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and interface with various teams

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in iGaming, fintech, or related sectors
  • Exposure to multi-currency or intercompany accounting
  • Experience with reporting automation tools or data analytics
  • Knowledge of regulatory financial/compliance requirements for gaming operations
